What is a Brown Bag session, you might ask?
Not to worry, you weren't alone. Initially, we just thought it was a cooler term for a brainstorming session. It was a totally new term for us as well!
It’s wasn’t after we had a meeting on the details and content of the session that we were enlightened that it was an informal presentation on our project to the Staff Association of UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS over lunch and tea break. The aim was to introduce the project to the staff association and let them know about the volunteering opportunities for them. We had two separate sessions at two locations, the UNDP Headquarters in Kuala Lumpur over lunch and the UNDP Global Shared Service Centre in Cyberjaya over tea.

The outcome of both sessions was very positive. The staffs were very responsive and enthusiastic about our project as it is something new to them and different from what they usually do. They were also very interested and intrigued by the samples of a cultural map done by other organisations that we brought.
And as for us, it was an eye-opening experience as it was most of our first time giving presentations to corporates. Well, in this case, non-corporates. But still, it’s a huge deal!
